Diesel
Pumps
For critical operations such as quarries, landfills, industrial sites, marine environments, flood control, and utilities - reliable pumping is essential. Pioneer Pump Solutions redefines diesel pumps: not simple on/off machines, but intelligent systems built for efficiency, control, and automation.
Our pumps feature full telemetry for remote monitoring and operation, with precision automation via flow meters and float control for seamless filling or emptying.
As a manufacturer, not just a hire company, we feed real-world insights directly into our design process - constantly refining for reliability and low maintenance. All new pumpsets meet EU Stage V emissions standards, with custom software that prevents common failures like DPF clogging or engine derating.
Safety and compliance are standard: every unit includes Chalwyn Valves, Spark Arrestors, and acoustic enclosures. Our fleet spans 3" to 12", covering everything from high pressure to high flow.
With Pioneer, you're not just hiring a pump - you’re getting an advanced, dependable system with custom programming, available through our full diesel hire fleet.

The Requirements
Our customer, a large aggregate quarry, required a pumping solution to increase efficiency on one of their sites. There were environmental considerations on this site, as the customer’s existing pump house was situated at the bottom of a sheer drop, and the water level in the lagoon had risen to such a level that existing pumps and electrical infrastructure had become submerged and unusable. They required an immediate solution to reduce the water level and then a longer-term solution to keep the lagoon under control.
The Method
As is standard service for Pioneer Pump Solutions, one of our knowledgeable sales team conducted a comprehensive on-site survey. This process involved walking the full length of the site to assess the terrain in detail, carefully inspecting the condition and positioning of existing pumps and pipework, and taking precise measurements of critical factors.
In doing so, we were able to identify any potential challenges or constraints, as well as opportunities for optimisation. These insights ensured that we could accurately calculate the required flow and head for the new system, laying the groundwork for a tailored pumping solution that would deliver maximum efficiency, reliability, and long-term performance for the customer.
The Results
Pioneer supplied one of our robust 150SMS diesel pump sets to be integrated with some of the customers’ existing pipework. Our powerful diesel pumpset matched the flow that their previous three pumps had provided, creating ease and simplicity for the customer. As the pump was situated below a sheer drop on the edge of the lagoon, the robust design and lengthy running time meant that our pump required little intervention and could lower the water level of the lagoon effortlessly and quickly.
Once our 150SMS had achieved the customer’s requirements of lowering the water level in the lagoon, Pioneer were then able to work with the customer to supply a long-term solution.
